The Michaelmas Fair fills Ock Street on 5 and 6 October, the marathon runs on the 18th, then Halloween and two fireworks nights. 45 dated events.
The two biggest dates in Abingdon this autumn are a fortnight apart. The Michaelmas Fair takes over Ock Street, the High Street and the Market Place on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 October, and the Abingdon Marathon starts from Tilsley Park at 9am on Sunday 18 October. Both close roads, and both have their own pages here with the full closure lists.
Halloween follows: the farm pumpkin patches open this month, and there are two fireworks nights in November. Around them the diary is busy. The Northcourt has a tribute band most Fridays and Saturdays, the Amey Theatre has a maths show, a film festival, two opera screenings and Abingdon Operatic Society’s Come From Away, and the craft fair has moved to a new venue for the last weekend before half term.
Everything below covers today to Sunday 15 November and was read or re-checked on the organisers’ own pages on 3 October 2026, and rolled forward on 4 October. Every entry links back to its source, so you can check before you set off. For places that are open whatever the month, see our guide to things to do in Abingdon.

Getting there
The Market Place, the library, the museum and St Helen’s Church are within a few minutes’ walk of each other. The Amey Theatre is on Park Road, and the Northcourt is a mile north of the centre on Northcourt Road. Our page on parking in Abingdon has the car parks and tariffs, and the roadworks and travel page has the closures. During the fair, from 4 to 7 October, the town centre car parks nearest Ock Street are the ones to avoid.
This page is rewritten as organisers confirm new dates. Dates can still change, so use the links before you travel. More in our What’s On section.
